That's assuming the bullet is travelling at the speed the whole way. Its is slowing down on its way. On Strelok I got around the 10 second number.

J it may have stemmed from some reports of US military skeptics interviewed by the media. Regardless I believe it was a good shoot and likely around 7-8 seconds which is "just" under 10 seconds as some media reports.
Many folks are likely using standard assumptions for ammo chronographed at 15 ft for Muzzle velocity as the start. The 50 cal is measured around 78 ft/24m for MV and 100 and 400yds/m for armor piercing specs.
Air resistance/density plays a major role in time of flight and it is why an air density calculation is done before firing. At that distance and time of flight, the earth's movement also has to be calculated and the scope adjusted for.
The A Trag A1 software running on a Recon PDA is one of the tools that is exceptional in returning a firing solution for a 1st hit.
Thanks Mike.
It may be different in Canada although I doubt it. Usually a non combat role for us(US) and maybe our NATO allies is training and calling in air strikes, overwatch(which includes threats to coalition and lethal force defense there of, especially if bombing or Drone strikes are collaterally not acceptable.)
Maybe there is a different "law"/policy in Canada with regards to JTF2.
It just seems naive or dense for Mulcair to be so confused by this IMO. Over watch whether by Mil or Police is by definition a STANO and protective job for all under one's "care".
Anyway thanks for the info and far be it from me to ever defend Jr or Mule cair, although I do side with the spooks in this case.
