Six people were killed and and 22 others were wounded, including a 5-year-old girl, between Friday evening and Monday morning.
The percentage of those murdered in the US by gangs and gang violence is about 80% of the deaths (about 70% identified as such in Canada) and there needs to be some cultural and attitude changes. Both there and here we see groups like ANTIFA etc. happily advocating violence for the left and right yet for the left the media seems to give them a free pass unfortunately. Hopefully Trump's turfing of the criminal elements of the immigration won't have the effect I expect here with our idiot in charges we welcome anyone, ISIL and murderers included!
Between a tragedy like this and the recent native shooting we can expect something negative for legal firearm owners (atleast rants and insults if not actual changes) from the master of emotional response ideologues we have in Ottawa.

The US needs a better system to keep track of who can and can't own a firearm and for someone to have a concealed carry they should have proper training for it but to say it doesn't work is empirically false. Better controls will help, cultural changes and enforcement much more so but in any modern shop there is enough there to make your own.... take a look at what was recently seized in the Ukraine... as long as criminals want a firearm there will be a demand and if there is more money than risk someone will supply it.

Dear Mac - just for you - "Studies indicate that firearms are used more than 2 million times a year for personal protection,and that the presence of a firearm , without a shot being fired, prevents crime in many instances. Shooting usually can be justified only where crime constitutes an immediate, imminent threat to life, limb, or in some cases, property ." Bills are being introduced in many states to pay for the training of teachers and administrators so that they can defend themselves and students - there is also a bill that would allow you to carry a concealed weapon in any state if you have a permit in one state - don't believe what you read in some liberal rag about gun control and expect to get the truth - guns in the hands of good people is good for everyone
