I keep a journal of my hunts, all of which take place in 77b, and once in a while 79c. I can accurately say that after two complete seasons (this is my third) I'm about 1 in 10 for sightings. That number seems to be improving though, and I'm not sure if I should attribute that to my learning curve or perhaps the deer density has improved...

I thought it was just me that hasn't seen any. Been out about 8 times and haven't seen a thing. Trail cam has pics sometimes during hunting hours but not a lot, mostly when it's dark.

This is an odd year..... weather been a little rainy. I'm probably 50% out of maybe 10 sits. Passed a big bodied 6 and some small does... this is between 94b, 85c and 92.
2 hunts in 94 produced getting blown when leaving stand so it's still a skunk in my book.
I'm streaky tho..... see nothing for several sites then get hot.... feast or famine for me in all things in my life. Lol

Put more feed out, or make some food plots if you have the opportunity. I watch deer everytime out.

I'm 1 for 6 times out now, but I got the one. Boy has been out 4 times and got the 1 he saw first time out. Still have a couple tags so we will see what I see. Don't need to fill all the tags so might just use them to sit in the bush and watch. I enjoy being out in the bush and watching all the wild life. Going north before the rifle hunt starts usually see 4 or 5 in this trip. I will probably pass on them unless it is a small deer, leave the bigger ones for the owners. I didn't get drawn in the controlled hunt, boy did but has used his tag.

This has been a sobering thread for me. This is my first year hunting and I am currently hunting a small farm. I've seen a couple does on each of the five times I've gone out, but I only have a tag for a buck. While not annoyed, I was getting a little anxious about the prospect of not seeing a buck this season. Reading this, I can just be happy that I'm not only getting to sit outside, but seeing a bunch of deer to boot. Thanks for sharing.

Don’t get discouraged, we are heading into a pretty exciting week where you should see some more action. Just keep at it and if those does are around it’s only a matter of time till a set of antlers comes sneaking through.

I think we have to define seeing a bit here too. I may see deer 300 yards across a field, or even further sometimes. I do not count that as an encounter or even a real sighting. I would say I archery hunt 15-20 times and will have deer in range 3-4 of these. So about 1 in 5 sits. But these are mostly does and fawns, or very young bucks. I get a mature buck in front of me for archery once every couple of years I would say.

Party hunted in the controlled hunt in 92B last week.
All 5 of us seen deer every sit & we tagged out on Wednesday. Could have been Tuesday but that's another story...lol

Our group of 6 put in around 180 man hours last week and saw 5 different deer. We got one.
