You are correct, absolutely. I use my "money" card with every purchase or my Triangle Credit Card. Either one tracks every transaction. I've returned a few items in the past that didn't require receipts. Sales staff simply scan your card and the item and POOF there it is. Easy peasy. The system virtually eliminates return fraud and is an important tool for inventory control and loss prevention.
Ironically,
I bought some parts for my Nissan Frontier in Oct, ( plugs, filters, etc), and traded the truck in. I literally went into the local CT store near my work ( not where I bought them from), and the clerk was super helpful, and gave me a refund on a CT card....all with no receipt.
Now I had to do a little flirting and sweet talking, but it was better than eating the cost of the parts, and trying to re-sell them on ebay or kijiji.
So you buy the parts, install them in your truck, then sell your truck and ask CT for your money back for the parts that were sold with the truck??? Geez …….
You did a "little flirting and sweet talking" while CT got screwed. And people wonder why prices go up!
I’ve had trouble in the past returning stuff to a different CT store than where it was bought, did their policies change ?
It was explained to me that they were independently owned and that was the reason....
Nope... no politics yet Bushmoose ! LoL !
No CTC card but probably a good idea Blasted Saber.
My original beef was/is ; If given a new coffeemaker shouldn't I get 90 day return policy on it ? I am not out to abuse a system I just expect a new coffeemaker to last a normal lifetime . Whatever that might be ? LoL !
Given that they are all stocked out of a central warehouse and distribution center, there should have been any issue.
Having said that, there is a fair amount of discretion given to the customer service counter staff. However, if it was escalated to a manager politely, I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue.
Kids every Christmas get gifts from family that didn't necessarily come from the store they're being returned to...
