No wild pigs here. The cougars eat them all......
Likely because farmers keep the sows and boars in separated pens, so when there are escapes only one sex gets out.
Most male Piglets are Castrated at a young age, so even if a sow with young escaped there would not likely be breeding males in the sounder.
Want to test your theory? Release 10 females and three non-castrated males. Then wait.
One thing is different from a decade ago..
Wild boars are moving north those are facts. As the population continues to head north it's only a matter of time before our escaped pigs run in with the wild pigs.
More escaped pigs plus the wild pigs crossing our borders will only result in a disaster. Even without the escaped pigs more and more wild boars will cross over into Ontario.
Every freeze up the chances of them crossing over increases every year.
