When we reply with quote. We pretty much trigger a reply. Was I bothered by yours? Take exception to anything? Is there anything in my reply, that might cause you to fire back?
Will say, about the only time I reply/quote. Is when I’m in agreement.
The problem is quite simple: each has to get the last word in. So the only way to end that is shut the thread down.
Shutting down the thread is often the only option that will work but not having this section or blocking some people is useless since if someone wants to they can create a new account in seconds and the shutdown of discussion never benefits the truth. .Quote:

As for mags, it's to each their own on where they choose to spend their money. Say what you want, this OOD forum reflects on the magazine itself to some degree. Besides, with all the online entertainment available now when it comes to the outdoors I don't think there's any doubt that magazine sales as a whole have sharply dropped over the last 10 years. All it takes is for a consumer of any product and for whatever reason to get a negative vibe about that entity/name and there's a potential customer lost. In fact, I have a totally pertinent example. I've had an Outdoor Canada subscription for a long time. A while back they put out an editorial from the chief editor on climate change and as I was in the can reading my new mag I was somewhat astonished that I would read what came across to me as somewhat of a global warming alarmist, and how Canada had to do their part. In fact for me, coming from from a Canadian outdoor mag I was somewhat put off by the article. Then two issues later in the "dispatches" where they post and respond to "letters to the editor" they printed a response to the article from a reader who had a differing opinion for his leanings so to speak. So the big kahuna, he kinda called out the guy and the basis of his somewhat feeble response imo was that Canada had a worse per capita output than China. Really, Like WTF, we are like a grain of sand in the big picture with our forests. Anyway, that response to a reader I felt was in poor taste and just rubbed me the wrong way. There was another comment too on the same subject many issues later. I still have one more year left in my sub and I will not be renewing it. Maybe I'll switch back to In-Fisherman again.

Small clarification....The term that is used for most forums is that some companies or organisations 'Host' them. Such as OOD. In exchange It allows a place for advertisements by suppliers etc on the pages.Quote:

It's obvious from this thread that there is a problem with handful of guys who post only to antagonise others by deliberately posting inflammatory, irrelevant, or offensive comments. Many good threads get ruined by their antics and it has driven a lot of members away.

SongDog is right, The Off topic area is a great place to have discussions on the news of the day etc and it should be supported. But it needs to be taken off the 'Daily Post or 'Active Post' streams to prevent the rapid paced nonsense, created by the resident Trolls, from overshadowing the post contributions of active members on topics in the Hunting and Fishing forums.Quote:

One would be naive to believe that this site and others related to guns and ammo is not closely monitored by government agencies. Hence the frustration you probably encountered due to this fact.
