The lockdown joke

Lockdown news coming out of Que today.

Manufacturing sector and lowly factory workers that make stuff we need to get by.
Paying the prices while RNs and DRs work stupid hours, but havent stepped up to help those paying prices for them.

While those in healthcare, education and more howl for lockdowns.....But not prepared to do anything while they bank their paychecks, and woefully inadequate help for those paying the other prices........

But yes, those cups of Tim's for RNs and even the very critical lowly janitors, sterilizing hallways, rooms, and equipment, who are more important, because without sterile environments to work and recover in..... than those on the pedestals....Are essential...:)

Not really

Back to another point. I disagree with the small business lockdown while multinational corporations (Costco/WalMart) continue to operate business as usual. I have been to Costco during a lockdown and saw all the people packed in that store and there was zero room to social distance. The check out line was easily 80yds long before it split into individual check out stations. There is no control in these stores - none what so ever. A small independently owned business could stay open and operate while having 1 or 2 people in the store at a time and still offer 3x more room for social distancing compared to the big box stores.

Doug dropped the ball on this one. If he cannot allow the non essential stores to open he should have the big box stores not sell non essential items. You can easily rope part of the store off and simply put you cannot buy these items in store - order them online. They are only to sell essential items during the lockdown. This would at least level the playing field and probably reduce the number of people that are out buying non essential items when they should be at home isolating.

No Kidding 4100.
And at the very least, their revenue should be getting heavily taxed.

Some will argue it's easier to control numbers at big box. Maybe, but the trade off is condensing would be shoppers into just a few locations (super spread events) vs wide spread dispersion. But when health experts are asked for data from small business or about that side, or the numerous mounting cost..."crickets"

But who determines what an essential items are ? ...a nurse working 12 hr shifts may need new shoes, the guy working outside may need new gloves or coveralls. Mothers may need craft supplies for their stay at home kids or electronics support for the older kids trapped at home.

They would have been better off closing the big box stores and leaving the smaller independents open and let them control the crowds and social distancing. 50 people crowding in Costco could have been reduced to maybe 10 people spread out to various speciality shops that could control the social behaviour.

The lady that cuts our hair has a one person shop...you sit in you car till she waves you in. She does all the proper sanitising while you're there and she cleans up for 15 minutes before the next customer.....why is she included in the lockdown. Why are 1,000's of similar small business closed for NO 'apparent' reason.

Who made the determination that 1,000's of people in the 5 mile radius, who need anything, should all congregate at Costco.

But then again some of them did say stay home as they went to Mexico.

I'm sure those who sat around the table in October of 2019 knew just what would be essential and invested funds accordingly.

I think a few people are making a pile of money off of people's willingness to believe everything they're spoon fed nowadays.

Virus - real. Sickness, hardship and suffering on many fronts - real. Most of what we're reading and watching - media spun BS.

Great to know there's other fork and knife guys out there.
It's becoming quite obvious the sheep can be spoon fed all day long..lol

Actually the beginning of the pandemic was a great time to invest, just buying stocks you would have probably made 25%. My current investments still came out at 15.5%
