It's not a personal attack, I don't think I've ever mentioned the persons name. I just don't believe we (Canadians) should ever have to cowtow to any other countries politicians and ideas pushed by their citizens.

So the trump man has ditched the WHO and Paris agreements.

Guess who just stepped up? China yep they will now fill the gap left behind from the usa. Was also reading last week another partner was going to give them 100s of millions they want for their Paris agreements

China will now lead both as the next largest economy. When you look at the map for the Paris agreements it's just the usa left out now. Last time trump left the partnerships also stepped up and delivered the funds.

We can't really blame China the partnerships have just as much responsibly as they are the ones who moved away from America and Canada for profits . Hbsc is doing it now they are leaving the uk and others for Asia.

Fun fact Chinas real wage income in the last 25 years has quadrupled while the average American has stalemate the last 45.

I guess that's why it was easier for a young person to go out on his own and raise a family in their own homes back in the 80s.

We get a raise and the prices only goes up so yeah we make more money but in reality we can only buy the same as we did before the raise. Then taxes go up and look we can afford less then what we did when we made less lol.

China already controlled the WHO - when the US was funding it. Pulling the funding from that was sort of an 20-20 hindsight no-brainer.

China signed onto the Paris accord in 2016. They agreed to cut emissions by 20%. Since then there emissions have increased by more than 20%.

I think more should pull out of it also. If it's just the usa they can live without them and will just get the funds elsewhere. If his plan was to ditch them and they would fall it might not work . Someone said it was trap for trump I can see how as it takes them off the global stage.

China isn't supposed to peak its emissions for a few years they say 2030.
They said the quit part out load at the davos event and said it was about the profits lol. Huge profits to be made from it lol.

Isn’t it sad that we have been great neighbors for hundreds of years. One man as a negotiation tactic says we’re not and we’re suddenly slinging insults back and forth.
Nothing has changed. We do not get 250billion in deficits from the US. It’s just exaggerated numbers.

It’s a fraction of that and that is made up of drastically discounted crude oil that the us wants or at least has wanted

I fully agree with taking care of your country first and we should do the same but there is a lot of win/win opportunities

I look forward to the day that they hash out the trade agreements again and we can suddenly go back to being good neighbours or neighbors depending on where you live

I believe your sentiments are right on the money. Unfortunately,our fiscal and trade policies have been really bad in the last 10 years. Now,we're faced with the consequences of lousy governmental policy in almost every aspect. We need to adopt policies that allow us to CYA quite quickly. Is our current government capable of such action? There isn't a snowball's chance in H*##. We may have to eat these tarrifs,at least,in the short term until we can oust the current regime.
