Congrats on the bands. Got to love a volley produces multiple bands. Our group once got 6 in one go all James bay geese oddly enough banded in two separate years
Jr got a banded goose on opening weekend - didnt know it was banded until he got it home. he grabbed it from teh dog on teh way by and didnt check - I always check. He must be living rt - I hunted for 10+ yrs before I got a band

Very nice, congrats to your young lad
Not from this yr but 11 yrs ago on opening day of duck season – along w/ a limit of ducks we got 6 geese as I recall. Highlight of the day – other than hunt w/ Jr when he was 6 was tripling on geese. Now the story really gets interesting – the geese I tripled on were all banded – now it gets weird – the bands were consecutively numbered xx-xxxx15,16 and 17. I don’t think I shot them in order ;) I talked w a DU bio and a USFWS bio and they had never heard of one person shooting 3 consecutively banded birds in one volley let alone one hunt. They had heard of a consecutively banded pair shot in a hunt.
They were banded about 100 mi away as juveniles earlier that summer – sorry for the poor pic quality but a good story. BTW that might have been one of few times that gun worked thru an entire hunt …. I was using duck commander calls long before they were "cool"

Local pond birds seemed to be loaded with bands. Had an awesome season but no duck bands to speak of.
We picked up 6 in total this year from 41 geese.
