Good choice for deer and up, not the best for vermin.
Just an FYI on the original post...All "overbore" calibers have the capability(based on case powder capacity to bore cross section area) to be damaging to the throat of the chamber.
Most people don't reload hot enough and shoot fast enough to significantly damage(burn) a barrel under reasonable use.

Which is why I recommended he sight in with 130gr deer loads and shoot yotes with that too. The bullet will not explode on a small animal like a yote. I once shot a deer while moose hunting with my. 338. There was minimal bullet expansion and virtually no meat loss. How many deer have you shot with deer rounds you can say that about?Quote:
