License money for fishing and hunting is nothing more than a tax. Who says it has to be spent in natural resources? If you think it is, you haven't been watching this government in action.
Want to help some deer, go cut down some cedars where you know deer hang out, watch how fast the snip the juicy tops off them. Feeding them corn at this time of year will just quicken their demise
the law of this province says it must , you know I could care less how much anyone hates our current government here in ontario , at least take the time to educate yourself on were the money form licences goes to and the rules surrounding how it's spentQuote:

Asides from the fact that the MNR has no budget, and no field staff remaining, I'd be surprised if they initiated any winter feeding at all, given all the talk about CWD lately. All the CWD data from the states shows that the transmission rate goes through the roof when they are concentrated around feeder areas. Wouldn't surprise me if it will soon be ilegal to feed, esp. if Ontario sees its first case of CWD. The SDI (snow depth index) is now critical in the area I live, with zero supportive crust. I'm running as many trails as I can with my Tundra long track, linking conifer shelter areas to areas that contain good browse. If it was my own private land, I'd be cutting cedar tops and placing them on the trails, and hinging some maples. Pray for no more snow, a thaw to form a crust, and hopefully an early spring. Will be intersting to see the tag allocation next fall.

We never saw a nickel or load of feed from any of that though to this day . Nor from MNR . Our deer numbers were so low and still would be if we wouldn't have stepped in on our own and that was when MNR actually still meant something .
