I know an alarming number of people in the Northwest who throw pike into the woods "because they eat all the walleye".
I've met several people locally who kill massive numbers of suckers as they spawn "because they eat all the walleye eggs".
90+% of locals thrown perch onto the ice to die because "they are annoying when all we want is crappies".
90+% of locals throw ling/burbot onto the ice to die "because they are ugly and we want trout".
I watched one guy (previous LEO- so no point calling a CO) throw dozens of lake herring onto ice to die. But he did eventually chop them with an axe to feed eagles in March.
