On topic, the crown land viewer was mentioned. Depending on the area you're hunting I don't think its 100% accurate as I've found some places around Haliburton that are private but show up as weird classifications by the viewer. Same goes with the backroad maps. Always double check the area you're hunting if you're not 100% sure.
