And I guess you're missing the point. They've steadily increased licence fees every single year for more than a decade. The price of a deer licence for example has gone up 26% since 2003.

Name anything in the past 10 years that has not gone up in price, anything....It is, and always was, where you live , but always, one person, one vote. If 50 thousand people from southern Ontario moved to your riding then they could- should, dictate what your riding does-says as well. Yes #'s count, that is democracy , they may be wrong ,but that the way we are governed. Folks on here are always saying that newbees, ie. city slickers move north and want to hug the trees , and change things. Yet... I hear constantly from those who live north " that it is my land and I can do what I want on it". It should be the same for all land owners, yes even new landowners . They own it so they can dictate what activities they want on it. You want to to hunt on the next property , then buy it before a tree hugger does, otherwise... it is my land.... go cut some more trees or develop some It software, and buy it ,money talks . 2$ is nothing, not even a coffee. Can't pony up 2$ then don't hunt, ( in our hunt camp some guys where complaining about the cost of hunting , but brought 2 cases of beer and 2 ,26ers for a week of hunting) and that has nothing to do with who is in power.
The price of energy in Ontario is the highest in North America. The primary reason is due to mismanagement by the Liberals and the green energy contracts (according to the Auditor General) where we pay 60 - 80 cents kwh and then sell it on the open market for 3 - 4 cents. Even you must admit it's pretty stupid to sell the energy at that kind of a lost.
So you believe the South should dictate how the North and East should live??
Funny how alot of TREE HUGGERS (which you seem to favor) also want to dictate how private land is managed and those tree huggers are often from the South. Maybe what the South should do first is learn to live within their means instead of expecting free money and daycare and free breakfast and lunches for their kid's.
Ok so this year they'll hit us with a " Special Fee " and down the road they'll hit us with a "Special Special Fee" because of their incompetent bungling of our "donated" monies-well maybe not donated.
They are all liars and hypocrites. Why don't we have Wind turbines all around the GTA? They could line the Queensway with them just off shore from Oshawa to Niagara. This is where the energy is most needed right? It's easy to make life changing decisions for others if they have no effect on you. How would you like the sight of a turbine being forced onto the property next to you? Doesn't matter. The liberals bribe the public service unions and the unions are rich enough to buy every campaign. Get used to a steady decline in your standard of living and quality of life unless you work for the government. One entitled person once took it too far and made a stupid comment like "let them eat cake" I think it cost her her head. It won't come to that in these times but at some point trying to suck blood out of a dead horse will prove useless even for Liberals.
Who get annual increases, pensions, are virtually immune to layoffs and proven to be overpaid by @13%. I don't see how they suffer quite the same as the private sector. I have friends and family in both Federal and Provincial government. I have a pretty good picture of the differences.
We have an off topic forum for political discussions.
The liberals boast we have the lowest program spending per capita in Cda.
Well when only .35 on the dollar goes to the actual services………because .65 goes to Interest, and wages.
Not all services or their employees live in luxury. A janitor in PS might be slightly better off than a janitor in private (17% in wages), but not all have DBPPs ( 76% of PS employee's do, so clearly a lot don't). So whether your a peon in private or a peon in PS, there are lots who feel the sting of exploding cost of living (Hydro, food, etc) and don't really have 2 nickels for themselves once 45% goes to taxes and another 40% to Housing, food, clothing……..
"One person, one vote"
Perhaps, but when the ridings in the city centers outnumber the ridings in Rurual Ont………..Maybe its time for electoral reform and better representation or balance, so that no party can win or stay in power simply by throwing lots of money at the GTA…
See gas plants, see 75mm for NoTL etc.
But also, when Unions (who represent such a small segment of the populace..less than 25%) are pulling the strings at Queens Park and have been since Bob Rae, who can afford to spend 11 billion to buy the LCBO, who can spend (no limits) boatloads of $$ campaigning for them….who get treated with kiddy gloves and get raises, and love while "the real world is taking it on the chin"...and on and on and on. Maybe its time they get kicked to the curb…...
In the past few months the Liberals have.
Raised fee's for many things now related to hunting and fishing.
Forced seniors (on fixed incomes, who are taking it on the chin vis a vie exploding Hydro, exploding Land taxes, healthcare cost, etc) to spend even more.
Without going after all the other users of the resources, who contribute diddly….
Or Without really trying to cut cost first…
$2.00
When all parties in power have the since the early 1990s…
Have gutted the MNRs budget, while at the same time expanded govt spending and revenue (taxation) big time
….
When many Provincial Parks are closing and so much more is getting deep sixed...
The MNRs budget has been going down, while spending everywhere else up up and up. Read this and weep

We all should have a problem with it. Yeah its just a cup of coffee.
See the bigger picture imo.
Good post JBen.
To those who have posted earlier, about it's "only $2".
1. This Government has proven that it has the same fiscal responsibility as an alcoholic at the LCBO with a gold card.
2. We, the users have seen license fees go up for years, while the Liberal Government has cut programs ( stocking, education, etc).
This is no different than the environmental fees that are now levied, yet nothing get's realized. I ust bought a small LED TV over the weekend, and to my surprise, despite the $150 price, it came with a $12 environmental fee. This is a shameless cash grab, as anyone in the waste business will attest. All consumer electronics are recycled now, at a profit to whomever is collecting them.
It's not about the $2. It's about the fact that it is another fee, another drop in the bucket which contributes to a history of fiscal irresponsibility.
Oh, and to whomever posted that they didn't vote? Kindly excuse yourself from the discussion. Unless you participate in the process, your opinion is invalid.
