That is Good attitude

I personally buy all the tags , Bear 2 Moose Deer small game Woolf 2 helping the conservation and i don't mind it . I have a great time in the bush , collecting blueberries (free jam for the winter ) having a campfire on the crown land (free wood ) an organic meat from Bear ( in the freezer ) Some Grouse , Rabbit, wolf pelt , and also a good excise walking in the bush on fresh air ( not a penny for the gym)

Don't complain look for the bright side .

Some years ago they cancelled the spring Bear hunt and know we have more bear to hunt ....

Go out and start enjoying the great outdoor .....

If you want to help , start hunting the predators to .........

X2. Like I said before in another thread,I've always been a "glass half full" kind of guy. Ya,maybe Moose is in the tank,but,the rest of it sure as he** isn't.

I know you are going to scout for moose, but if bear is open...well prove you did not look for bears too.

Since Bear starts in August even if you could legally do the scouting in July, would any of the scouting you did be of any use?

By aerial scouting I mean flying to learn the lay of the land. Nothing to do with drones and not necessarily looking for moose. Would be more concerned with the layout and a location to setup once we arrive....

If we don't have bear licenses I don't see any harm just flying around....

Good idea to do an Ariel scout Jeff gives you the upper hand in knowing of little streams ponds ect to set up on that others might not know of .. And unless your scouting Alaska the odds of seeing moose in the northern forest by air are fairly slim unless there at the edge of water as for bears unless there on a road or out in a fresh cut you'll not see them . So reAly nothing to worry about there . I fly often as I work for a Heli companie , my friend and my uncle both have planes so ive been up lots . Always good to see what your getting into from the air . If more hunters took to the time to properly scout out an area befor the hunt , less guys would end up like the groups I met up with last year wondering where to go lol good luck on your hunt Jeff . Looks like we should have a bull tag this year guaranty so the presure is on for me now lol

Not for me to decide...MNRF has already stated that scouting with a drone OR aircraft during "OPEN" seasons is a chargeable offence.

So just don't do it during an open season. Don't forget the Topos for the area, you will want to make notes as you fly.

Thanks Ray, if all goes well we will actually be up your way.

We used to do 13 until the change last year. Last year we headed to Armstrong and put in tonnes of time with maps, google, other forum members and talking to the local MNR on the phone several times who was a super nice and a helpful guy. He helped me identify road access and gave us suggestions on where to setup before we ever left for the trip. Oddly enough we ran into him when we were up there and spent a good 45 mins talking in person.

We meet the requirement for a guarantee bull however I don't have total faith in the system. If we come you're way I'll likely PM you for some tips.

How did you make out in Armstrong ? I tried it wonce myself , put a tone of miles on my Argo , called ect no luck . Seen lots of gut piles from the week prior to the opener tho . Seen lots of night hunting goin on as well . Had no desire to ever go back .
