Every story has three sides. Yours, theirs, and the truth. So if the OP says it was 40 yards, the other guys said it was 100. I'll assume the truth lies somewhere in the middle at 70 yards away. Which is out of the OPs bow range and as it turned out was the right spot seeing how they got their deer on day 1.Quote:

By the way , what's this old guy stuff? Like I said, I was just a little pissed that they set up a blind 40 yds, not 100 or 70, from my stand. To be honest I'll be surprised if they move it like they said they would.
I'm pretty sure most anyone would be a little ticked that they get a deer on their first real outing on this property, especially when they talk about their other properties that they hunt.
So, there you have it. I know I've been repeating myself, ( not to old to realize that), but it comes down to sportsmanship and respect.
And they didn't get that deer because they have a few tricks up their sleeve, just sh.t luck. Sorry, had to say it.

Wow, I was just trying to lighten it up with a little bit of humor regarding old, age, etc. Venting, whining, sort of the same thing. Bottom line is, a couple of hunters unnecessarily stepping on another hunters toes when they have good places to hunt already. That's just being greedy. I've asked at places to hunt before and been given permission but upon finding out there are others hunting the property, I've walked away. I'm sorry if this post has somehow gone a different direction. Really it's all about a hunters code of ethics.
Hopefully I'm not making this any worse.
Not to give you a hard time but painting these guys as unethical is way out of line. Had they trespassed sure. Had they messed with your stuff sure. Had they told you to F-off when you spoke too them sure. None of which happened. Sure they my have other spots to hunt however a good hunter chooses the best spot. Their other spots may not have been conducive too hunt be it the farmer working their fields heck there may have been someone else there. If you must feel bad go ahead and get over it. Keep in mind that the other guys came to the same conclusion that it was a good spot to hunt and not oh lets screw over another hunter. It is so easy too see fault in the other person however some times self reflection is important. You call them greedy yet are you willing to share?Quote:
