Janetville area turkey hunting ... help please

I don't really see your point on being a bad egg from hunting on un posted land.... I see it as someone enjoying the outdoors respecting the land ... obviously ask for permission if the opportunity is there but if not I'll hunt it no problem... not to be a menace but to be outside and enjoying it... you really have a negative view on people that are not as lucky as some to have contacts or own land. I understand some have "worked hard" by driving around and knocking on doors.... I'm just not that guy unfortunately

Wow this whole thread is incredibly painful to read. Obviously the OP doesn't give a in regards to advice provided by many to protect him. By the sounds of his every reply, he'll defy all advice and do what he needs to go get his turkey.
As for you being "just not that guy" to work hard and secure permission, YOU are the very reason most landowners say no. They have one bad experience with a hunter and we are painted red.

Heh, yeah, just getting painted is pretty tame and would be the least of my concerns from the list of consequences of trespassing.

couldn't agree more! Thank goodness its not considered trespassing if its un-posted or fenced.... should be alright but definitely keep my eye out for trip wire!!!!

Most accidents require two ill advised actions to happen at the same time. Trespassing would be one of those actions. I was shot at by a individual a few years back that thought exactly like you do, saw the birds from the road, no signs, good to go. I had been working that large flock of bird for 5 hours, that's right 5 hours and at the moment of truth when i was set to pull the trigger, buddy shoots at the birds right in front of me. He missed me but he definitely thought he had shot me. I would of bet the house that there was no one in that field when i got ready to shoot. Hunters can and will make questionable shots sometimes, like shooting at a bird on a knoll, stalking and shooting, etc. lots of people do it. Add a trespasser and it's only a matter of time before an accident happens like the one i was involved in. Food for thought.

You obviously have a "Northener" attitude that is NOT ACCEPTABLE in Southern Ontario, and if you think otherwise, you ARE going to be a problem for every other southern hunter.
Private land is just that - PRIVATE!
Don't try to B.S. around that concept by claiming its okay if unposted!
According to your logic, if you don't post the yard around your house, its okay for me to come on your yard and shoot something - its not posted, so that's legal!

If you can't understand this, and can't work within this concept, then you need to move back north!
As Onelessarrow stated, too much chance for accidents, as well as creating negative landowner feelings for us all!

the only good advice for the OP seems to be focus on fishing! lol
