I hope that was an exception rather than the norm. !!
I just bought a 2019 Ram after owing GM trucks for 23 straight years.
Heard good things about the Hemi 5.7l and really couldn't beat the pricing with current deals.
I guess time will tell.....

Silverado all the way
I am on my 3rd f150. First was a 2003 with 5.4 and put 250k on it... loved it. traded for a new 2009 again 5.4 ltr. Just traded it with 320k and went with a 5 ltr coyote engine. So glad I did. Mixed driving getting 13.2 lt/100KM. Love the torque and sound. Plan to put over 300km on this baby!!
Yikes have about the same on my Toyota Tundra and I’m averaging 15/100 KM. At least I knew it liked fuel before buying it.

Had to do a long haul this morning. Put it in eco mode. Drove around 118. Averaged 11.7 per 100. That’s more like it.

That's pretty fair mileage.. if you keep your highway speed under 110 you will probably notice a difference.. Also I find that winter fuel is about a 1L/100 penalty on mileage.
So if you do the same trip in the summer you will probably be in the 10's.

Not saying which is best, have 2010 gm 4x4 pickup, closing in on 300k, towed a tandem trailer to Alberta and back, 5.3 engine.
Have only done the routine maint. with no major repairs. Have never reset the overall avg. mileage which is indicating 13.8.
401 driving at 115 is high 12-13 litre per 100. Just saying for info.
