What it comes now to is that it does not matter if you think they are here, or not. We have the green light to hunt them, and some have been shot. It is better for the people that want to try to hunt them NOW, just go and try to find them. If they do become "naturalized" to Ontario then there will be people that already have experience hunting them.
Also since We have a similar climate and terrain to most of Europe, luck could be on our side and the population will not explode like the southern states.
Running Game??? That's how we have been shooting coyotes for over 40 years, not many are shot sitting when they are chased by hounds. But I have shot quiet a few by calling them in where they slow down and sometimes stay still looking things over.
My .243 , .222 and now the .204 have done in many, like over 400 during all these years ' lots of pictures to prove what I am saying.
Also many of my deer have fallen to a running shot.
Hunting Jackrabbits is the same situation, running shots with a .22 mag. previously a .222 .
Watch Wild Boar Fever X on youtube, They are all for the most part excellent shooters like in the video posted above. I'm really thinking of a hog hunt for my next trip, This looks like so much fun.
