Reporting is problematic because it's your word against his. I also don't know what your relationship is with the other people involved.

What I would do is not hunt or scout with him again and let the other members of the group know why even if it means I don't hunt with them again.

Thanks for the comments , he is the owner of the camp there were only the 2 of us in the camp. .I hunted deer with him for years and no problem.
There would be no evidence ,since I could not give an accurate location on the road which is a logging road.
I'm 73 years old and not in a position to start a fist fight with a 35 year old , who is larger and more fit then myself.
I will discuss this with a CO in my area and I'm sure he will give me the best advice.
Believe it or not we broke camp on opening day of Moose hunt and drove 1750 km back home and ended our relationship.

Actually he's giving Judge some good advice that he may well be unaware of. Being a rat can often bring consequences when you least expect it. Simply a heads up to the OP

It is very simple, you call the CO and bring up what happened without leaving your information, you can do that. You will be putting them on notice that this is a person who needs to be watched, they may not get nailed for shooting a bear with a 22 but will probably get nailed for shooting from their truck at some point down the road or at minimum not getting let off for something minor later on.

Saying to not say anything due to being in by that person is like telling a witness of a robbery, sexual assault or any other major crime that people should just keep their mouth shut and not get themselves into trouble.

Do you not understand why thousands of witnesses refuse to testify. It's for their own safety. Don't think being a rat doesn't always have consequences

Here is a story for you

I know a guy that called on a drunk driver. A very well known person so he wanted to stay anonymous. He may have even called the tip line so he would stay anonymous.

The cops hounded him to go to trial to give his statement. He refused to go to court as he wanted to stay anonymous as they agreed. They told him they had nothing without his statement. Turns out the guy got off the charges probably had a good lawyer. The guy who called on the drunk driver said he never do it again .

Do you really stay anonymous ?

Maybe some cases yes but in a weak trial your statement is everything.

as others have said i would bring it up sooner than later with a CO before you get caught up in it as well.
