Mark, I was happy to post the u tube video of the party leader because they do have some good idea's. Unfortunately his delivery and explanation of how exactly he will achieve these policies is still a little fussy.

Quite a topic.

It’s a little disheartening to see a stated Conservative dumping on the Libertarian so hard without any prompting. In his case, Mark is a veteran and also takes the time to mentor others with hunting - he didn’t deserve what was written. If that’s your way Badenoch, perhaps you’re better off elsewhere.

Libertarian principles are interesting to many, including myself. Correct - they are highly unlikely to form government anytime soon, but I believe their influence would be helpful if we had a first-past-the-post system and seats were awarded based on voting percentages. Guess we won’t have that as promised since Justin figured out it would hurt the Liberals.

Sadly, one of the downfalls of democracy is that parties that opt for austerity don’t last long enough in power to see it through. Humanity is generally weak, no leader can deliver what’s needed because those that depend on the government will always vote for whoever helps them live OFF the government, or in other words, live off those who work hard for their livelihood. Sad isn’t it, the Libertarian way only works in small, like-minded groups living apart from the rest.

Even if all they did was cancel out the Green vote/seat in a minority Government it is well worth looking at what they have to offer.

I think once we hit 2030, the electorate will be looking to dump this whole socialist ideology and get back to grass roots government. They may see their time then.

Perhaps what you meant is if we DIDN'T have a first-past-the-post system and had proportional representation instead. However, every system of proportional representation sets a minimum percentage of votes before getting seats usually around 5%. The Libertarian party has never cracked even 1% either federally or in Ontario.

We do agree that the Libertarian way is best suited to "small, like-minded" groups living apart from the rest of society. Most of them are already there either physically or emotionally.

FYI, there are many people who served and mentor. Not all trade on their distant military careers to further their political objectives.

Correct, I had intended to write proportional representation.

More unnecessary insults above, why so bitter ? I’ve never heard Mark use his military career as leverage.

But he has referred to those who go along with the current governments decisions and processes on Covid as sheeples. Makes one think the Libertarians believe Canadians can't think or reason for themselves.

He's paraded his military service and time in Bosnia several times on this site. I'm entirely unimpressed as in my experience service people who did the most at the front end are the ones who talk about it the least and vice versa.

And any pissant who refers me as "comrade" or a "sheeple" had best be prepared to get a little in return.
