I know what you are saying but - if I was a parent of a child I would never leave the child with someone who I knew was gay - now you might say that this type of thinking is wrong but I ain't going to take chances - it is like everything else in life - if it is common for a certain breed of dog to bite people then I am going to be very careful of that breed and stay away from it - even though the particular dog in question is not vicious - or if you are a store owner and three black teenagers with hoods on come into your store you take extra precautions even though the three guys are good people - or if your going ice fishing and a couple guys fell through the ice earlier that day and you decide not to go where they fell through even though the ice is ok now - that's the way life is - it's called being careful - thinking that way will give you less grief as you do through life - believe me

You're absolutely entitled to think and act as you may.......that's what's so good about freedom. I have friends that I would not think twice about asking to look after my kids.....but....as I said they're friends, and I trust my friends. To each they're own bud....

Well, the Catholic church is the only one that I know of who doesn't allow priests to marry but they are the only ones under the gun for diddling little boys. I'm sure you'll have some convoluted excuse or reason for that.

You know pretty much every culture (and by extension, religion) is guilty of abusing children? Abuse & slavery have been human universals up until quite recently...the Roman Empire (pagan) committed many atrocities in this regard. Same with ancient Greece (pagan), despite being an incredibly advanced and 'progressive' culture. The vikings (pagan), Ghengis Khan & his ravishing horde? And of course the main offender, Islam...who's founder was literally a pedophile warlord. There have been giant pedo Islamic grooming gangs exposed in Europe. The oligarchs involved with Epstein, Prince Andrew, Clintons, etc. Nxivm. Not many Catholics there. There is tons of sex trafficking in Eastern Europe, which is mostly under the watch of Eastern Orthodoxy, not Catholicism. There are ritual rapes of young boys in Afghanistan & other parts of the middle east going on today. Members of the US military were told not to intervene because it is 'part of their culture'.

Obviously this is not to excuse or justify any crime committed by members of the Catholic church. A sin is a sin. My point again is they are not 'leading the charge' here by any means, despite all the anti-Catholic propaganda from heretical Christian sects (which have been the majority/wielded the most power on these shores) that have always despised Catholics, as well as the constant anti-Catholic sentiment from Jews.

That is very troubling to hear about your cousin. Sorry to hear that. Perhaps that understandably explains some of your animus towards the church/religion? The few evil doers in the church pale in comparison to the overall good of the church, however.

I think this connects to the bigger issue of sexual liberation as political control, and has to do with individual people and their personal struggle against evil generally. I don't want to just guess a random %, but I think you would be shocked to realize a good amount of people have had some sort of sexual abuse incident in their lives...and the stats on those then abusing others is pretty high.

They are absolutely related, insofar as they are both a disordered form of sexuality, and that most young men who turn out to be gay report being abused as a youth. There is no real scientific consensus on the whole 'born this way' thing, and many ex-gays have 'come back in' so to speak...of course you won't hear any of their testimonies in our age of LGBTQXYZ+ being pushed on us constantly.

Abuse begets abuse. Children are not sexual, and should be fiercely protected in this regard. A little too much attention from the baby sitter, exposure to pornography, bullying, absent father/over involvement with the mother, extreme introversion/shyness/self-consciousness around the opposite sex etc. all have profound psychological effects on a child. But we are all held at gun point and forced to accept that sodomy is the greatest of all possible virtues, and there's nothing anyone can do about same-sex attraction.

Interesting you think I’m some apologist for the Catholic Church from my previous post. Should I then extrapolate from your post that you hold the opinion that being gay makes one a pedophile?

Your failing to see something is your failure. The Catholic church was not the only church to run these schools. The government also ran the schools...who truly had the power? Were any of us there?

There is good and bad everywhere, in the hearts of each and every one of us as fallen people. But fortunately for us, the good is much more abundant and prevailing.

If your child commits a crime are you directly responsible? Is it a problem of parenting in general that must be dismantled? Is there a hidden manifesto related to the crime that you co-authored with your child that we will discover, after an extensive investigation, which will prove beyond reasonable doubt exactly why the crime happened? Or was it just an unfortunate and uncomfortable incident, despite setting a wonderful example and working hard as a parent?

You cannot draw a clear line from Catholic doctrine / the bible / the life & example of Christ to child abuse, as you could with say Islam/the Qur'an. That is why I stated it is not Catholicism per se that values or promotes child abuse.
