I don't know if this is a real picture or not. I do believe there are cougars in Ontario. I was with one last night.....but I digress. It won't take long for the folks to start saying "Photoshop" "cougars don't swim" "Too much of the body out of the water" Etc...etc...etc.
I'm surprise there isn't more to the picture. Who took it, where in Kenora?? The Photographer deserves a case of beer.
If this picture is real, and taken in kenora, it is a cougar. I can't verify where it was taken or wheather or not it's photoshoped, but compared to someother pics I saved or cougars swimming (4 legged one) and compared side by side it looks legit..... However the pic is blurry... I've never used photo shop or anything but does anyone who has it know if you can clear that pic up? Or is there anyway to tell if it's been run through Photoshop before?
Perhaps it should be illegal... But where do you draw the line? 200 pound mastiff or 200 pound cougar? Virtually any pet could turn and kill there owners if they were so inclined. I myself would never own a cougar as I see no need.... I think it's a pretty dumb idea. But there is a risk that comes with owning any pet, I know that my GSP mix could do numbers on me if he wanted but I trust that he never would.... But where does the government get off saying that your cougar is far to dangourous but my German Sheperd is good to go?
Definitely looks like a cougar to me. Picture seems recent based on the foliage in the background.
A Fake.
Who takes a photo of a cougar like that, goes away, then posts the pic. Particularly so close to civilization (see background). Would have made the mainstream news.
'Hey...I just seen a lion at Luther Marsh..here's the photo!'
just say'n.
