dont need to start a thread to discuss... most topics are already out there, BB is a pretty active member, and offers alot of great advice, like me he also likes to have fun, you gotta laugh, and not take everything seriously...

actually, the cat topic is an issue if you talk about birds.
unfortunately, I came in contact with both the dog and cat issue (in the distant past, and NOT in Ontario). Long story short, I never shot either (although would have been 'entitled' to do so within the applicable laws). Cats don't go far into the woods unless they are feral cats. All issues with dogs were unintentional and corrected one way or the other (...) after talking to the owner. So to be realistic there wasn't really much damage done (i.e. one single deer). I do know a bunch of guys who shot cats (feral they claim), but not a single one who shot a dog (or would admit it when I'm around)...
I bet if someone asked MNRF how many charges/warnings there are each year involving owners letting their dogs run at large illegally....they'd probably give you the answer.
So a HANDFULL of you posters disagree, there are up to 200 silent browsers who visit this site who don't post and according to my message box, agree with me that dogs need to be kept under control at all times, as the law states!!!
So you start a thread with an outlandish statement that all dogs should be 'leashed'....we prove it to be nonsense, so eventually you catch on and change you mind and say all dogs should be 'under control', which we've all agree to from the start, as do your 200 PM's from the lurkers.
So what is your issue Chris.... ???
So I used a few wrong words. GET OVER IT!! you think it's nonsense, most browsers disagree with you.
Deer have a hard enough time surviving without a domesticated mutt chasing them to the point of where they are killed or where they abort their fetus. Keep dogs on your own land and under control!!
I see it not just a couple times a year, but on a weekly basis, where dogs are running wild.
Does your township have an animal control officer Chris ??? Maybe you should take you beef to the Town council and tell them that dogs are running rampant in your community. If there are that many then they're probably strays and they need to be picked up.
Universal lease laws are 'nonsense'.....totally unnecessary, totally impractical and totally unenforceable.....good only in specific areas where restrictions are required.
for example....
Does this unleashed domestic dog look like it's a threat to chase down a deer or kill a fawn ??..
Nonsense...

^^^ looks like a nice light snack for a coyote.
The properties I have with issues are unorganized. The OMNR realize that there is a problem. They said I need proof of who's dogs are the culprits.
One time it was a lady working for OSPA who brings dogs home with her to her remote property. In this episode I caught the dog on my land 3 miles from her and dropped it off at the CO's door. She was warned. Never happened again after that.
Another time I saw a dog taking a fawn down. Got a picture. Game warden said first time he's seen dogs in action ripping a new born fawn apart!! When the CO visited the dog owner there was blood and guts all over the porch of dog owners house.
The time 2 dogs ran deer right by me. Deers tongue dragging the ground and blood covered hamstring. Deer most likely was killed just after I saw the dogs.
2013 when a malamute showed up at my wolf bait. Dog owner was known to let his dog run wild to fend for it self. I had proof in the back of my truck who's dog that one was.
