The CO was either a "probie" rookie or a sour old veteran trying to pad his ticket stats. Either way,he failed miserably on all counts, missing a golden opportunity to teach rather than write. There are posters here who think that every small violation or tricking some honest angler or hunter with a loaded question as in this example, then, using that answer to write a summons or ticket is how LEO's should be doing their job, but, you're right on the money that they don't last long on the job. Dime-a-dozen armchair critics that have never served in law enforcement a day in their lives really have no way of know what they're talking about. Just let them put their mouths in gear with their brains in neutral, then, ignore them.
