No it's not encouraging anyone to do anything illegal....it's asking if you do. Makes for a good discussion if people were honest.

But if you're slitting hairs;
The fact is ....it's against the law to 'hunt' before legal time. (FWC 113: Unlawfully hunt at night 20 (1) (a) $250.00 fine)
Technically you have already broke that law by even being in you blind/stand before legal light..
Hunting:
The definition of Hunting under the Fish and Wildlife Act:
“hunting” includes,
(a) lying in wait for, searching for, being on the trail of, pursuing, chasing or shooting at wildlife, whether or not the wildlife is killed, injured, captured or harassed, or
(b) capturing or harassing wildlife, except that “hunting” does not include,
(c) trapping, or
(d) lying in wait for, searching for, being on the trail of or pursuing wildlife for a purpose other than attempting to kill, injure, capture or harass it, unless the wildlife is killed, injured, captured or harassed as a result, and “hunt” and “hunter” have corresponding meanings; (“chasse”, “chasser”, “chasseur”).
The original question was "Who amongst us law abiding darlings and angels, un-case's and loads their rifle prior to legal shooting time half hour before sunrise?". Doesn't specify anything else about when/where. Some real-world examples were given showing that COs are out checking for this type of thing far from main roads, in the dark.
If some people feel that the chances of getting caught are slim under certain scenarios, and they are willing to take that risk, that's up to them. But it's not too intelligent to be telling anyone who knows how to use the internet that they do it.
Well Mike... you were doing well up until this post.....there is NO law against “hunting” between the prescribed hours.... it’s like “hunting” from a conveyance..... happens all the time. Where you cross the line is if you are in possession of a firearm while not encased between those prescribed times, strictly speaking from the “hair splitting” perspective... lol
MP-your remark makes 100 % sense.Hovewer if we intrepret this the way it is presented-almost NO ONE should be EVER in the bush ,EVER,before leagl shooting time.......makes sense? No.
Even if we look further-item(a,) pretty much prohibits even bird watchin too:silly:
That is why i am always wondering, why the Ontario Hunting definition differs from the one from Quebec.
They state pretty much the same as definition for hunting-except their sentence is ending with -WHILE in posession of arms.
Now,one with empty and encased gun(encased from all 6 sides)does not "posess"a gun for hunting purpose.Does he/she?No.
No lawyer and not challenging..........

Rick...night is between the legal times...can't hunt at night....means you can't be in a Blind or stand if it's night (dark).
You have to sit in the parking lot talking to the COs until the legal time before you head into the bush. HaHa..
