No one in my immediate family has missed a paycheck because of this.
But we are well aware of the hardship caused to those who are affected by it.
You want to see fairness in a lockdown? Pay for the 2k/month CERB by docking everyone who is working or collecting a pension so their gross pay is only 2k/month.
See how far you get with a lockdown then - when we are actually all in it together. But now I'm sounding like a communist....

When I look at the image jakezilla posted, I can't but help of the book Animal Farm.
We have already separated our society into the pigs and the "other animals".

Similar thoughts Werner. Though I know a lot of people that have been hit hard financially. none of them in retail or service.
An electrician that runs his own business. Big contracts with Starbucks and others...So he is losing business and I don't know how he sleeps at night with the lack of cash flow and debt needed to run his business... This is costing him tens/hundreds of thousands.....

That image made the rounds of facebook a few weeks ago. Very accurate imo...

Back in the spring many who were safely collecting paychecs, would share memes about WW11 with images of vets. "All we are asking you to do is sit on the couch".

Last I checked most Canadians volunteered to be sacrificed. And those at home sacrificed large too.
My how times have changed.

Jben, for some of us collecting those checks, things are not good. Even though we are still working, expenses for making that check have gone up.

Some times it feels like I came down the ramp with 50 or 60 other people, and there is no one left but me..

I’m kinda of referring to that Snow walker. That’s why I highlighted none are in retail or service.

Salesmen or business owners are still working, making sure others have “toilet paper” or widgets. Doesn’t mean they aren’t taking hits. Big ones.

While the SS largely unaffected cruises to shore.

I think that scenario is why homes out here in rural Ont are selling as fast as they hit the market. Some 'brighter than most' have figured out what life will be like in the cities when this pandemic drags out till next fall.

I can't watch the news anymore nor listen to the radio. Too damn depressing. I dont give a flying F what goes on in the city, I have my house, the farm and the hunt camp to keep me busy and outside away from the crowds.

Fiancé and I were talking about that last night Mike.

Her niece and her fiancé are in advertising. Both make well over 100g you know where. They’ve been looking at cottages. Hoping to capitalize on some other families cough....bad luck..

They’ve decided to buy in Columbia ( why we can’t figure that out). S America isn’t in good shape. All they need is a good connection....

As for “Columbia”.
Well their employer pays taxes, “here”...and their taxes to Canada. And it’s not like there’s any real benefit to what ever small town they buy in.

The way my fiancé sees it. Is well soon enough all those employers will cut cost. Why pay outrageous salaries to Canadians working remotely when anyone in India can to
