Why i will not vote on next elections

Badenoch....Next time you are asked about policy, bring up cutting the federal public service by a minimum of 30%, doing away with the inheritance taxes, doing away with capital gains tax and lowering taxes across the board in order to stimulate the economy. All true fiscally conservative policies. I bet they stop calling after that.

The government always believes they can spend peoples money better than the people can. The easiest and best way to stimulate an economy is to leave the money with the people who earn it.

It's a very easy club to join and getting in where it matters only takes a little time and effort. People who claim the system is "rigged" but have never been directly involved in the system are like know-it-alls about hunting who have never fired a shot.

We agree tax cuts stimulate the economy although I favour income tax cuts and not across the board. As for the other opinions you'll have to carry your own water. Get involved, attend a meeting, express your views to the people who matter. You'll be surprised at how many share your views.

Not in a leftist world, the freeloaders live off earners money. The whole reason liberals do nothing positive, but raise taxes.

It's really showing with CERB, along with other handouts. Unemployment over 8 percent and climbing, over 200,000 jobs lost last month.

But hey look at the bright side, universal basic income will come soon for job loss, and to permanently extend CERB to those that choose to freeload for life off the earners money..

Vote Libertarian, at least you will be voting for something. If you dont vote "they" win in creating voters apathy and despair. All the socialist will vote for keeping themselves employed with the state.

Most conservatives, if they are conservatives, agree with my ideas....if many people in the party share my views, as you claim, why do they never make it into policy.

What you claim and what we see as the end result in the party policy do not match up. Where in the process are things getting derailed? If I need to make politics a part time job and hobby to make sure that the CPC acts like the conservative in their name and doesn't tax me into oblivion and then something is wrong.

I have a friend who was close and involved with the election of the local conservative MP. The MP had all these great things they were going to do in Ottawa to make a difference. They went to Ottawa after the election and came back cowed and toeing the party line.

Stephen Harper cut the GST by two points because party members supported and advanced the policy. The CPC disbanded the long gun registry because party members supported and advanced the policy. The CPC overturned the banning of the Swiss Arms and CZ rifles because gun owners in the party contacted their MPs and convinced them to do it.

These things do not happen by accident. They are the result of activist party members. You do not get everything you want each time but if you can bring together enough people inside the party you can make change.

While a 2% cut of the GST is technically a tax cut it's not enough to stimulate anything.

Don't think I don't write my MP. Again, if I have to become an activist so the conservatives will stand up for my rights, freedoms and to not be taxed into oblivion, then they need to remove conservative from their name.

I see not voting as a vote for the status quo, not protest.
I will likely always vote for the broadest based conservative party.
I think my views are more libertarian than conservative, but can't see anything productive coming from conservative vote-splitting.
If libertarians can't get enough traction within the conservative party to swing the party to the right, there is no way in hell they'll have any influence at all an independent party - other than to shave conservative votes and hand the country back to the liberals.
