We called the OPP on two separate instances of trespassing.
The days of not knowing exactly where you are must be coming to a close.
Cell coverage has vastly improved and there are some tremendous free apps to identify boundaries.
Compasses are a great back -up for safety; but nothing like using the free municipal resources like WPSGN
Love it when guys are clueless; get caught; and think they own up to the big rock and out past the first swamp.
Personally we walk over 300 acres and its amazing how true the old monuments and iron bars are.
They did a pretty fantastic job years ago using chains , rods, and horses......no cell coverage then.

People were just a bit more respectful of others property than what you see nowadays. Maybe too there was just less competition back then for places to hunt.

Back in the day, it was easier getting permission to hunt someone’s land. Now it’s harder due bad apples ruining it for others or land owners who disagree with hunting, or someone else got there first. It can be really hard getting permission so it’s important not to wait until the last minute. Sometimes, you may have to convince a landowner that you are a straight shooter, which may take several visits.

God I miss my farm in Harrow, Ontario, 94B .Their wasn’t. Any crown land around and during gun season ,it was like I lived on the 401. Other times you might see a few cars a day. This was my dream ,2.5 acre goose pond, 36,000 seedlings planted. 2.5 acre soya bean plot. I could see everything from the back porch, cold days the kitchen. White clover and alfalfa around the pond and red clover around all the trees. Lol, it took me 60 hours to mow the 51 acres, sometimes near dark I’d mow the pond and would have 10 plus deer waiting to drink. The wild turkey were released near my property and they took up residence in the 50 oak stand adjacent to my property. Talk about fun.
Early January, I got a call from my sister,my brothers wanted to put mom in a home, I had COPD and couldonly pick a few days to hunt. The poachers ruin that I couldn’t even yell or chase them any more. That was the last straw. I told my sister, I be home by August, September I walked away from my farm , duplex and house up north ( bear. Guide ).
The spring of 2014,I started baiting and baited until oct.31 every year. I’ve been baiting 2 zones, but last year bought a 100 acre camp to guide deer and moose in another zone. The bears , I hope to draw them away from my property. It may be hard with all the apples.

This year seems to have been especially bad. But I agree with a previous post that it's best to confirm they hadn't given permission to a relative 5 years ago and forgot about it. Ran into that this year. Also ran to a group hunting without blaze till they saw us then they put it on. Same group told the land owner they were only accessing another property through his. They basically told all the land owners the same thing. Which meant they shouldn't be hunting there at all as they had no permission on the block. Ran into a small game hunter who said he had permission from the guy across the road. But that guy wasn't the land owner for the land he was on. He proceeded to say he couldn't be charged unless caught in the act. Told him he was wrong and now that we linked him to his vehicle he best be on his way not to return. Crazy thing is theres no crown land here and theres a bunch where he lives. Another fella walked out shot a fur bearing mammal and left it there. I have not run into the embarrassing behaviour of other hunters before this year. I knew it happened just hadn't experienced it first hand.
