This new system is so open to abuse and such a download of proper a tag system onto hunters, that it defies imagination.

totally agree . you dont need much computer skill to start copying tags and print as many as you want. like you said the only thing that will stop em is a game check. and ive read that there are only like 300 ministry guys right now in Ontario if my memory serves right. couple years ago there use to be over 2000 or something like that. my dad use to see them every year in owen sound during deer season. last 2 years haven't even seen one.

In 92B the same 2 show up every year the day before the first black powder hunt at our cabin. They ask to see our license / controlled hunt seal & deer seals even though we are sitting around the dinner table & we are not even hunting yet...lol

I know a lot of you would tell them to get lost because we are not hunting. If we did that they would be messing with our hunt for the entire week... :(

best thing to do is be nice to them. show them your doing nothing wrong and hopefully they wont give you guys to much of a hassle.

its good to see them still around tho. i went with my father up to owen sound earlier this year to go check out some property's and ran into 2 deer carcass' called the MNR up and by the time we were back home (hour and a half) he called back asking were on the property we seen the carcass and if we knew anything else about it. A Holes left half the meat on the shoulders and literally not even 15 feet from the road.

this was maybe in march or april.

Guys I will be doing a test on a couple of waterproof papers. Wanted to do it sooner but still waiting on some of the paper. The question will only really be which is the best printer to use an Ink Jet or Laser Printer.

We will notch our tags and put the tag in our wallet. If the carcass is unattended we will put the tag in a zip lock bag and zip tie the bag to the deer. Easy peasy!

Really there are so few COs around there was nothing stopping someone from shooting a deer and not bothering to tag it at all. I really do not see how this changes anything, you can poach game in this province pretty easily with either tag system if you wanted to, there just is so few people out there checking. I think in 20 years I was checked or had COs come to the hunt camp 2 times, one was rabbit hunting in February in SW Ontario and 1 was deer hunting at a camp in Eastern Ontario.

Keep in mind that CO's do a fair amount of work that isn't so visible. Do you think they all wear orange vests and drive around in marked trucks? That isn't a very good way to catch people in the act.
