That’s interesting. Especially that they have stopped the hunting as it increases the population. We all know this to be true. Its the same as coyotes. I know a guy through a friend that killed 60 last year and his buddy killed 87. All in the same area. Did nothing to the population. Its to bad the deer don’t have the same instincts and biology. Myself I’d love to hog hunt. Not at the expense of our farmers and our area getting overrun with them. Unfortunately, if the hogs are coming there’s nothing we can do to stop it.

Don't know if this is relates to this thread but I read this news article last week. A Texas woman killed the driveway of the women who she was supposed to be a caregiver for.

Part of the article.Quote:
Caregiver Christine Marie Rollins, 59, was supposed to visit an elderly couple at their home in rural Anahuac, Texas, on Sunday.
She never showed up. The hours ticked by until finally, one of the seniors went to the front window and looked out on the driveway.
That’s when the couple saw Rollins’ car in the driveway and her body on the ground, partway between the car and the front door of the house.
Rollins showed up for work at about 6 a.m. that day but was attacked and fatally injured by a pack of feral hogs on her way from the car to the house, according to the Chambers County Sheriff’s Department.
I never seen wild boar around here but I would love to hunt some.
I'd say it fits here as well as anywhere.
Attacks on people are NOT as rare as the article may try to have you believe.
Deaths( human) from hog attacks are rare, but attacks are fairly common.
In the past attacks have been in Rural locations, but the number of Urban attacks is making a sharp rise as feral pigs begin to colonize the parks and green spaces of towns and cities.
Texas, Arkansas, Alabama, Florida.. not exactly know for ‘liberal governments’... they have huge and growing wild hog problems and they have year round hunting.... the issue is one of biology and behaviour... hunting has not resulted in controlled wild pig pops period...
one sow can have two litters per year, with an average of 12 piglets per litter... it’s like rats and mice... kill 90% of the herd and they are still back next year larger...
when hunted, wild pigs separate and don’t herd up... it’s the reason why some jurisdictions instituted a not hunt policy, as you kill 1 or 2 or 3, the remainder splinter, and breed, they the feed only at night... the focus on trapping the herd and killing them at that point...
