Do I think it's worse than the common flu yes . Does it require only shutting down only smaller businesses and leaving all the mega makers open. Nope
Or protecting the most vulnerable ?

98.5% of fatalities have been in long term care homes with half in Quebec.... yet we are shutting down the entire economy, ruining small businesses, creating huge debts... sounds more and more like Justin Trudeau's reset! There are only 9 more years until 2030... this is their "opportunity"! Their "chance to change" things....
Given their attitude to evidence, desire to change the topic and ignore empathy, respect and integrity ... I really wonder if the Lib trolls on here are just paid minions sometimes.
The deaths from depression, cancer, heart disease, liver damage etc. will be far harder on the rest of Canadians, Wuhan Pneumonia killed 53 today... still only 1/3 of the numbers from April/May with 11,763 dead... so at 98.5% ... 1.5% outside ... about 177 people in all of Canada that weren't in long term care... as I mentioned before the Do not resuscitate and Do not hospitalize in seniors home do skew it based on the one medical discussion I read. I wonder if the euthanasia cases due to the shut down are include...

"An elderly woman, who was not chronically ill or dying has been euthanised to avoid living through another COVID-19 lockdown"
The problem with only 9 more years is that is when we will just starting to get back to reality . It's not just going to be over when we get a vaccine or there is no more cases it's going to go beyond that for a recovery.
Was reading an article the other day it talked about covid hits all age groups said a 20 year old died with covid ? Not from covid.

Sorry but if the law says you can’t be open, you do not have any ‘ right ‘ to be open. He is breaking the law. Most on here are asking for the law to be enforced at other times. Consistency people consistency ,you can’t pick and choose what particular laws you want enforced. Lock those guys up, their breaking the law, don’t lock that guy up he’s breaking the law? Get tough on crime they said! He is a person only charged with a criminal offence, let him have his time in court same rights as anyone else. Like most fringe players he will have his followers and they will pay his fines , he will have the notoriety he craves. Likely won’t have to buy a beer in a bar for himself ever again. ‘Remember the time.......’.
One thing I can't wrap my head around is these comparisons:
1) The government allows people to be drug addicts, and burdens the tax payers by putting up "safe" drug injection tents to feed the habit, apparently "safely".
2) The government allows us to smoke, drink alcohol and consume marijauna, despite the burden this places on our health system.
yet,
3) The government does not allow people to operate their business, and give consumers the freedom to choose whether they feel safe or not to go into those merchant shops, because ?? it will burden our ICUs??
The key here, is nobody is forcing anyone to go outside and go to these shops. If people want to "risk" exposure, does government have a right to take that decision away from them, while we still allow the above two to happen?
These are all scenarios where people can freely choose what they want to do. If you are forcefully exposing others to the virus ... I get it. But that should a different set of rules, like physical assault ...
Anyhow, we live in a world of hypocrisy ... in the end we just go with what we like, not what is right, or fair, or consistent. I believe the government is mostly reacting because they fear the criticism they will face from the opposition and nut jobs who complain all day long ... and then in the same breath the complain their rights are being violated.
You are aware there are constitutional challenges that are being raised to these "laws" around the world right? A law can be created via a process fulfilled in parliament, but that doesn't actually mean the laws have any teeth ... once they are challenged constitutionally and found to be in violation of the constitution, they are struck down. If a few MPs could decide for the whole country what laws they want to put in place, without any constitutional checks in place, that is when really, really bad stuff starts to happen ... and I'm afraid Turdeau doesn't really care about our constitutional rights. I'm no lawyer ... others on here are ... so I'd appreciate it if they can chime in.
What would any sitting government do, if the rest of the worlds governments are doing the same thing? Be the ‘lone wolf’ ,going against the rest of the world and all reputable health sources
Any government doing so and anything went wrong ,the bodies would be on their heads. Trump. They would loose the next election and likely more after that. Please tell if the rest of the world is doing the same thing why should we be doing anything differently. Try doing it without any conspiracy theories, about a cabal of NWO directors, pulling the strings.
Why is it law to close the shops? sounds like our failure in gun laws to . Take away what does the lest to help protect the ones who need it at a costly expense. These places that are closed are not the mega spreaders of this virus.
Make any sense.
