The only fence that will hold pigs, is one that can hold water. If water can get through a fence pigs will too, in about half the time it took the water to find a hole.

I heard this about goats too, makes it hard to figure out how the heck we domesticated them.

Look at goat and sheep herder around the world. They just basicly follow them around, easier then fences.

I keep sheep and goats in with a fence, lots of people keep them in with a fence, pigs are tougher to keep in but a ring in the nose keeps them from burrowing as much and there are other methods as well.

I had sows, kept them in the barn yard. Had a woven wire fence , with 2 electric wires on inside. Pigs are very smart, once they get a shock , they stay put. Give them a wallow hole and a bit of mud in it , they are happy. old243

Not saying you can't fence them in. Just that a lot of people around the world "free range" goats and sheep, pigs as well. Different herding style that also is dictated by terrain and environment.

We do NOT want them in Ontario
