Is media controlled ... yes, it is! I was at a meeting in Oakville in Sep 2017 where Morneau tried to convince small business owners that they were naughty and were avoiding taxes ... nonetheless in the Labor Union offices (likely a welcome meeting spot for the Liberals). Questions from the public were limited to 2 minutes (Q&A) so basically there was no time to get any good answers from Morneau except for the blah, blah immaterial rhetoric. After the meeting, ALL the media were invited to a "back room", public was not allowed in ...
Anyhow, the next day, I googled the event to see if any of the news had published photos that I could find my team in ... and wow, did that open my eyes.
I found WORD FOR WORD, beginning to end, copy/paste exact article from multiple news corps ... obviously the were told what to write when they went to the "back room". Either that or news reporters are now lazy and allowed to plagiarize. Here are the articles so you can see for yourself ... all of them for example have the SAME starting paragraph ... "Canada's finance minister got a grilling Friday from taxpayers who are boiling mad about the Liberal government's proposed tax changes for small businesses."

Oh I know for a fact there are often given the text (by the PMO) of the article to print.
But some smaller papers just print the article as it appears on the Associate Press telex release ( I know I know, I'm dating myself HaHa.)
Well almost 2 weeks into the lock down and numbers are not heading down yet .

In Alberta they are calling for the federal government to create field medical centers. A little late but I'm sure that will be the next step Ontario makes as well.

Oh wow, so am I reading too much into this, or is the Associate Press a tool which allows the government to control what media presents ... basically if we see the same thing being printed everywhere ... instead of blaming it on government control ... they just say oh they copied it from the Associate Press??

And you shouldn't expect them to. Its like stopping a ship. Shut the engines down and that monster will still run for miles before you even notice a change in speed.
