Ain't THAT the truth, Mike! My Dad left a lot of security behind, and moved us up to Kenora when I was a teenager. Best thing that ever happened to me. Gutsy move and we had some hard times, but it was worth it. And he had to do what so many will not...take his kids a lot further from their grandparents.Quote:

despite the amount of good advise you're getting on various pro/cons of jobs, I assume not many people on here know you personally. you have to realize that people have very different preferences and those might impact how happy you'll be later in life. so, don't only look at the job, the pay, the benefits and the location, but also if you could see yourself in 20 years with family doing the same job (not many will do it - for a good reason or two). not to say a career change would not be a good idea, but don't get into something that you are not made for; e.g. some people like to follow and want stability, others need to create something of their own, some like to work every day with people and others would kill themselves before selling cars, etc.
there's always the "start a business" model. if you have knowledge/experience. guiding and such
