Yes, I was thinking it could be used as a 'quarantine' type item for shelters to clear the new dog of ticks & fleas. After that, it might not be needed.

Maybe a bad idea, but it was a thought that jumped in to my head.

I'd leave it on my dogs the full 8 months.

We started our dog on Bravecto over the weekend. This will be her first year on Bravecto as we previously had been using Advantix. Our Vet recommended Bravecto & said this season will the worst yet.

Has anyone had experience with the Preventic collar? It looks like Amazon.ca sells them & might be a good secondary option for hunting in spots that are known to be higher risk.

I also use UltraShield EX (thanks to terrym and I believe MikePal for that tip) on my boots/gear when walking out in known areas & technically I guess I could spray some on the dog too.

Picked up a t product called Sawyer insect repellant at Dicks Sporting Goods, Port Huron Michigan on the weekend. You spray it on your hunting clothing boots etc and will last up to six washes. Is the same as the UltraShield.

Remeber that we are talking about pesticides. I wouldn't double dose with a topical and a collar. We also need to remember to wash our own hands well after using any of these products.
