Quite a few years ago, I used to stop off at a bar to join a friend and play billiards, have a drink or two and go home.
This particular day as I was there a cop car pulled into the parking lot, sat for a while then drove off.
Fortunately I had been drinking only ginger ale, as I was driving home , I was pulled over at a side street by a big cop about 6 ft 5 in. [dark skinned], my truck was very distinctive the only one like it around.
As he waved me down to pull to the curb, he walked up and asked "if I had been drinking , to which I replied yes."
He had me walk to his cruiser and told me to blow into the breathalizer which I did, it registered nothing [ginger ale] he got pizzed off and told me to quit effing around and blow harder which I did, blew my lungs out , still reg. nothing and he was really getting pizzed off.
I bew again at his insistance which resulted in nothing registering and he was starting to turn red with anger , threatening and more.
Finally he says to me " you told me you had been drinking , to which I responded yes it was ginger ale ".
Well he almost blew a gasket, saying I was trying to make a fool of him and more.
I responded and said" if you had asked if I had been drinking any alcoholic drink m my answer would have been NO and you would not have made a fool of yourself.
Just because I was at a bar and you recognised my truck to pull me over, it didn't necessarily mean I was drinking alcohol , I was there for a few hours, played pool and drank ginger ale.
Now I'm going home and you have yourself a better day.
As has been said , some cops when given a little authority think they know it all.
GW read the last seven words of my post, #81. Everyone knows some d-head a-holes , that need a little 'encouragement' . I am glad the cops know them as well.
