The lockdown joke

Wife asked me to pick up a few groceries on the way home yesterday. Walmart in Bowmanville was conveniently on the way.

I had heard that big box stores that sold food would be cordoning off the areas that were non-essential, and also heard that the non-essential areas would be open but the entire store would be operating at reduced (25%?) capacity.

neither of these measures in place. Parking lot and store PACKED, all areas open. If not for the masks and tape on the floor, it was business as usual.

no wonder the small business owners are furious.

One of the more stupid things to do and bandied about by "snowflakes". But as per the other thread and people not thinking.......Well that's our highly esteemed health officials..
The less consumers buy, the less contribution to GDP and tax revenue, the fewer staff are needed, the fewer warehouse and inventory people. The less work for those in purchasing and supply chain logistics. The less demand for truckers, and factory workers. Why make and ship widgets that aren't selling....

Yes we had to run into the one in Uxbridge on New year's Eve and it was rammed . Had to return Sunday night around 7 pm and it wasn't bad at that time.

Wish more was open to give me some better options lol.

How is Tim Hortons an essential service? I see people coming and going (into ) everyday.....

73hunter, its a total joke whats going on. I can confirm its been like this for months here, nothing has changed.
The wife and I have been to Costco in the Shwa a couple times in the last month and its the same there business as usual, nothing much has changed.

well people are still working at other jobs, DR's, Nurses, Day cares, Schools etc. Many people buy a Coffee on the way to work or buy their lunch.

I personally would not want a sleepy Dr operating on me. My Wife works at a Day care and buy's her coffee.

Donuts and coffee are essential, but clothing is not? Really..
