From someone who posts pics every fall of Woodcock with their beaks stuck into a broken off piece of cabinetry screwed to a tree..

Don't worry I've upgraded my hunting skills.

Yes I celebrate every day I'm out be it a full card or nothing. Shame there is always an arm chair critic.
Wonder why some post such things?
Lets take a pause and reflex on how to make a more active and inclusive forum.
Took the bait of a troll and derail a thread apologies.
Question does this promote or destroy ones desire to add content to this outdoors forum?
Would you have me stop posting tales?
Hardly do it for my glory but to honour the stars of the show my dogs and share with my community.
You members be the judge.
I joined this forum to learn, and share, and maybe find like minded ppl/ mentors for hunting and fishing
so I am with u 100%.
referring to that specific thread. ppl are jumping on the user for wanting to hunt a specific turkey and not just anything moving !! thats very short sighted and makes ppl not want to share.
alot of angry ppl judging away from the couch here.... they all used to be good hunters I assume..
Don't agree with these 5 stages anyways....not sure what category I'd fall into anyways. I've hunted long enough I don't care about limits, But I still don't like getting skunked and I sure as hell don't just do it to get "out of the house" that's what bad hunters say LOL
Pretty hard to please everyone. Had people get mad at me for laying my gun on animals I've shot, Not covering up blood before pictures taken. F em, Who cares I post and follow hunting stories for the content and maybe learn a few things, Don't care if anyone likes it or not to be honest. Not online anyways

Totally agree.
Last year I posted about hitting a deer with buckshot and searching for it for hours with no luck on finding what would have been my first deer.
The replies were positive at first,
Then the critics come and start to bash and assume things like they were there beside me hunting with me.
I agree 100% this makes people not want to post anything.
Same with if someone tells a story and something is not up to someone's standards with the type of gear etc one is using and makes the op out to look stupid for not using something they may not even known existed in the first place.

"In the 5 stages of hunting
1. In the Shooting Stage, you just want to shoot things.
2. In the Limit Stage, numbers matter.
3. The Trophy Stage is about being selective.
4. In the Method Stage, how you hunt and take game become more important than how much game you take.
5. In the Sportsman Stage, you are more interested in the whole experience than in “bagging” game.
Other than the first two Newbie stages harvesting weighs very little.
From his account I think the OP has already elevated himself to stage 5 and feels justly rewarded"
It was in reply to your response to this. The implication being that you've progressed past that stage.
Came across as "holier than thou". Just trying to keep your feet on the ground as I reflex on your past posts.
Can I get my status changed from "borderline spammer" to "forum killer"?…..
Guess in your haste to try and crucify me you missed the fact I wasn't referring to myself but to the OP. Might want to reflect on why you jumped on me in such a personal attack and move on as it does no one any good.
Post some stories of your adventures which might be of more interest to the community and others may do the same.
There’s a reason people don’t post reports on this forum anymore.
5 Stages of an OOD Forum Member Who’s New to Hunting:
1 - The posting stage, where you post as much as possible sometimes without purpose
2 - The report stage, where you start becoming successful and figure “hey, I’ll post some pics”.
3 - The burned stage, when someone collects the metadata from your photo or is an overzealous internet scouter and burns you
4 - The pissed off stage, when you pick fights with anyone you can.
5 - The “I’ll post every once in a while” stage when you figure you’ll chime in to offer some advice where you feel it’s needed and somehow get called a “troll”.
-N.
Debating opinions and arguments are certainly a part of life, but constantly beating the same old horse and resurrecting feuds from weeks, months, years Ago, are what keep newer users from posting.
If anybody comes here to prove their worth in the world I feel sorry for them. We all come here to kill some time chewing the fat or reading about other people's adventures, even for advice and tips. Who really cares what a person you've never met or cared for does in their own time. You aren't going to change anybody's mind by badgering them online. I personally enjoy criticism when it comes from a place of good nature.
I don't think I replied to any posts for over a year after opening my account specifically because of the negative and aggressive attitude from a few users. So I can see why there aren't a ton of new members posting threads or contributing to the forum.
