Storage

Got a nicer boat then what I'm used to this year and now I need to properly store it for the winter.
Looking at either shrink wrapping it and leaving it outside, or
Store it inside but don't shrink wrap it.
Would like to here about what people do it don't do for these types of storage

If you have a place to store it indoors would be better for your investment to last longer . Also give you a chance to do some maintenance to it over the winter. My preference. Bounce sheets and mothballs in boat to keep rodents out also.

I had rat Issues when I stored it inside with no wrapping.

been wrapping it past few years, and kept it inside for one year, and last year it was wrapped and in my drive way all winter uncovered ...

You can buy a shrink wrap window / door from uline, so you can access it in winter as well, change whatever you use for humidity control, and have access to do anything that needs to be done.

I would not shrink wrap inside or out unless it is somehow vented to prevent mildew on carpets or wood. My first choice would be inside storage everytime. Long time exposure to sun and weather can play havoc on paint, aluminum and fiberglass over time.

I built something similar to this for my 18 footer. I used 2 inch ABS pipe, held together with screws. I use a tarp with bungees. Works great. Easy to take apart and store

I have a 25 foot tritoon that has lived outside since new 13 years ago. Local guy picks it up after Thanksgiving at my dock takes it back to his shop services and winterizes the motor than shrink wraps and brings back to parking area on my property. In spring he picks it up, removes wrap, gets it running and than delivers it back to my dock. All in he charges $400 bucks. For the cost of material and time and effort I am happy to pay that.

Also knock on wood - never had any rodent issues so far.

What do you do for rat prevention?
