As for clothing the best way is to take a dedicated outfit and spray it down to the point of wet and then let it dry and air out for a few days. Absorbine Ultra EX contains Permethrin and Pyrethrin and will kill ticks and other insects on contact and will last for a long time including several wash cycles. It can be used on your dogs as well.

I’ve never encountered ticks in the fall. Spring and summer are normally peak times in my neck of the woods.
I've gone through two cans now of Icaridin over the last few years for mosquitoes and black flies and I'm not impressed at all. It doesn't work near as well as deet, doesn't last very long and leaves an oily film on the skin. I won't buy it again. Now if I had young kids I'd still be likely to use it on them.Quote:

sawyers permethrin, I had to order mine through the usa or stop at walmart when I was allowed over there. Works great, you can even wash your clothes multiple time and its still effective.
