Picking a Day: Solunar Calendar
Hey all, hope you are well. I have a question about picking days to head out, and was wondering if y'all could lend a hand.
I am lucky enough to have the ability to pick and choose my days when it comes to ice fishing. I almost exclusively fish Simcoe, and when I do it tends to be Cooks Bay on a weekday (to avoid all the commotion). I get out around once a week. I pay attention to the solunar calendar when hunting, but I don't know about using it for fishing. Do you guys look at it for fishing, or would temperature, cloud cover, or any other factors come into play for you before the solunar trends? OODMAG posts the darn calendar in each issue, so I thought I'd ask. All the saltwater guys rave about it given that they fish tidal waters, but I haven't a clue as to whether or not it is impactful for an inland lake like Simcoe.
Anyways, thanks for the response.
