What does anyone know about the 3 litre Eco diesel. I see they get awesome mileage almost the same as my old Sunfire and better then my wife's Santa Fe Suv.
I cannot seem to find any real issues with them. They seem to be as strong as the 5.7 Hemi but awesome on diesel.

they are amazing when they work but there are huge issues with them.
my brother owned one and luckily took out the extended warrantee on it. In his last year of ownership repairs would have cost over $11,000. One of my best friends owns a shop and has seen countless ones with blown turbos and even blown motors at around the 100,000km mark
I'm sure there's good ones but from what I've seen I'd stay far away
Are they good on fuel oh yeah they are are they ticking time bombs likely
I change oil every 5000 miles
I would buy another one. New
My parents bought one new in 2018. It's been amazing. The fuel mileage is incredible. Driving it easy in the summer months my dad will AVERAGE 8-9L/100km. Haven't had any issues with it. That said, i'm going to strongly encourage they sell/trade it before the warranty ends

I've got a 2016 and there are some problems, early models, 2014/15 had some grenade, bad assembly, who knows. The newer ones are much better but then it all depends on how people drive them, they are not like a gasser where you hop in and light it up to warp drive in less than a 100 feet. Every brand has it's gremlins, there isn't a hope in hell I'd buy another GM or Ford. There are some guys who have had their Eco diesels upwards of 300km with no issues pulling trailers for work. Would I buy another, yes.

Other then the "I want"what is the real economical benefit for most of us : Owning one Diesel vehicle vs a gas vehicle. When the "break even "point can be out at 300 K km.
What is a point of trading in a truck at 100K to avoid potential issues down the road other then the "i want or "i can",when the trade in or a new vehicle makes only the Dealer rich.
Does not seems as an economical decision .
Nothing wrong with either ,if one can afford-or one fancies this(to each their own).........maybe i am missing something,just asking.
