Just wondering what make is all you peoples favorite in a slate call?
I use gobblestalker and have had it for years. will need replaced soon and wondering if there is better out there?

My go-to call is a Primos Freak, in frictionite. It’s very east to make all the various calls.Quote:

I have a H.S. Strut Alumiwitch and a Quackerboy Magic Touch and a fistful of different strikers to use but so far this year whatever I'm saying is falling on deaf ears. I love the sounds you get from box calls but cumbersome to carry and would squeak in my pocket, I'm not bad with mouth calls but don't like the feeling when using them so pots and strikers it is. I had one of those plastic box calls with the string that snaps on your barrel but lost it ; it was handy when you had the gun up and your bird was still out putzing around. Game calls are always great gifts for hunters because each and every one sounds different !
"Better" is a moot point, the cheapest Walmart call could turn out to be the best call you ever had. I usually carry 3 with me, a Primos ceramic, a Cody Woodsman and a custom slate. I also own a Gobblestalker box call and I'm fond of his work. TCQuote:

I like the Primos call myself tried all kinds even custom made ones but keep going back to the Primos
Anything but slate. I have several but I like glass mostly.
Slates don't like even the slightest amount of humidity
Not a fan of slate pot calls but really like my crystal and purpleheart pot call.
