This is why we need a far broad approach, than were currently have when it comes to educating our youth and our general adult population, about fireams. Ignorance of firearms is not bliss, pure and simply it can prove to be dangerous, if not potentially deadly. It is far too easy to blame such incidents like this on a Gun Culture. It really comes down to a societal ignorance of firearm and blind attempts to suppress firearm use.

I haven’t read the story but if this happened, it has more to do with parental failure to teach their child how to deal with emotions than firearms. Just my opinion.

I saw this article on FoxNews. It's just beyond effed up.

massive failure of the parents, both in teaching the kid how to deal with life (although many have failed at that these days) and worse yet allowing a 6 year old access to a firearm.
Parents need to be charged in this case in my opinion

Agreed, but lots of kids (and more adults than we think) have issues dealing with emotions…..I think the primary problem is a pistol AND ammunition easily accessible. Laws should not be required for parents to know it is a bad idea !

We can't have emotions anymore our schools were told not to talk about the queens passing because it could "trigger" some students. "Emotional damage " lol.

This event is horrible and totally avoidable with a bit of basic common sense and safety measures.

Horrible, I put the most of the blame on lack of parenting. I had a pellet gun when I was 7, and a 22 and 410 by the time I was 9, ( at my grandparents farm in the states). I would have never have even thought of even pointing it at somebody even if I was mad at them. I have no problem with kids having controlled access the firearms if the parents know they are responsible, and the kids have been well trained on firearm safety. Sadly it seems the boy had poor parenting, a lack of respect for authorities, and access to firearms.

Now I reaqd where an 11 year old girl killed her younger brother with a knife.... Have y'all seen the movie Mad Max, well this is what this world is hearding towards...

Evidently,the kid swiped his Mom's pistol from home. There's no secure firearm storage laws in that state. 'Merica.......my rights.

Has nothing to do with "Merica" and no need for deragatory comments towards them.
Had 100% to do with poor parenting. We shouldn't and don't need laws to try to control the lowest of the low parts of the population as they won't listen anyway.
