Tagged Out!
I was in my blind and set up by 5:30 this morning. Right around legal shooting time I started to hear turkeys gobbling in the distance. There was at least 8 Tom’s gobbling but none of them were close to me. This continued for about 45 minutes, then slowed down. At around 8:00 a doe & last years fawn, walked out into the field and crossed over to my side. They were about 40 yards from me. I was in my new TideWe blind that has see through walls and sliding window panels. I could see them really well through the walls but they couldn’t see me.
They went into the woods behind me and 15 minutes later I heard a snort from the deer. Then 10 minutes later a Tom gobbled from the same general area. I watched him walk into the field about 100 yards from me. He saw my decoys and started to strut slowly towards me. Then these 2 jakes came into the field across from me, They were really jumpy and nervous. Then then ran right at the strutting Tom and they all went back into the woods.
At 9:40 I heard the Tom gobble from the woods again. I made a few soft calls with my mouth call. I looked across the field and saw another Tom heading my way. He slowly walked into my field and after a few more soft calls, he gobbled and started to strut. Ever so slowly he walked towards the decoys. He was out at 35 yards but would not come into the decoys. He went past the decoys and was 32 yards from me when I shot.
21.2 lbs 8.75” beard 1 1/8” spurs.
I shot my first Tom the other day after 9:00 and thus one at 9:50. Sometimes you just have to wait for good things to happen.
I would love to post photos but this site continues to have problems.

Great job and story John!
P.S. I’ve seen posts of people having problems with pics, but it worked fine for me. I just had to add them one at a time.

Great story.
I guess it's time to go fishing.
I was having a hard time with posting pics also, so what I did was went into my photo editing and reduced the size of the picture by 1/2. That worked because it would seem that my phone takes pics at to large a scale to transfer to these posts.
Hope that helps, and again, way to go.
