iHunter Ontario App
Found this absolutely perfect app for download ($5.99 - well worth it) for android and iPhones. It takes hunting to a new level, lots of information available at the 'click of a button". What is good about it is that the information is stored on your device so even without being connected you still have access to information about the WMU, location, Regs, sunrise, sunset, local by-laws, hunting seasons, waypoints, email/twit-your-geo-location, - you name it. Asked the developer to add crown land maps - said it is possible - probably with an extra cost as he himself will have to pay for them. Check it out - there's something for everybody.

There was a thread with this app not too long ago. I downloaded it and am very pleased for the $5.99 price point. I certainly don't mind paying for an app, but it better be worth it. Winchester has a ballistics app, which is pretty neat.

Just curious if any information you put into the app like hunting spots, sightings, waypoints etc is available for others to see?
I would expect not. The reason I ask is there are some photo apps that allow others to find good photo locations based on a database of images by map and geo locations
edit: I have sent the developer an email asking

I have downloaded the App after receiving this quick response from the developer
"Great question James.
No, the data never leaves your device to be stored on our servers and no one other than yourself can view your data. The only exception is if you turn on iCloud backup (highly recommended). With iCloud backup enabled, the data gets backed up to Apples servers, but no one has access to that data. If you ever lose your device, or upgrade to a new phone, you can restore all of you backed up data.
Privacy of your hunting spots is very important, and we will never violate it.
Thanks, and good luck this season.

I downloaded it when the other post came up. There was a small omission that I emailed the developer about and they made a change and thank me. I am happy with it.

Great communication from the developer. I wanted to download the app (android) to try and side load it onto my Blackberry, as there isn't a native BB app, but you need either ITunes to download iOS version, or googleplay to get the droid version.
E-mailed the developer to ask how I can pay for it and get the droid version just as a pc download to sideload. He e-mailed back in a few minutes stating that he would love to provide it but because it relies on google for mapping I'd need an actual droid device, and that the BB version may be on the horizon.

Bringing up an old post sorry... Everyone still using it? Any updates? I was thinking about getting it but I see no reviews, looks like you guys seem to like it though.

Yeh I am looking into it as well now that I have switched from BB to android.............I was also curious is it a one time fee or do you have to renew the 5.99 fee every year ???? Or will it automatically load all the regs info etc for following years? Also do you hav eto be connected to a network in order to use the ihunter APP or can you use it anytime anwhere?
Thanks guys
Found another app I have not got it yet but it looked decent..........scoutweather.com.......can mark stand locations and even view which way your scent will be blowing prior to heading out to which ever stand you choose.
