No squirrel is safe in the woods now. It should be a real tack driver.

Is this a drop in barrel for something you already have or is it part of something you're building?

My dad and I are building a squirrel gun. 1/2 stock flintlock.

Always wanted a flint lock.. Ever since I saw them in the Canada day celebration... The smell.. The smoke.. And the complete awesome look if them.. Sure they don't look as "cool" as the black rifles... But the old flint locks.. They just have something about them. Kinda like a wife.. May not be as good to look at as the stripper.. But when you get close to her.. Her smell and touch is just a little more familiar and comfortable.

I have always worked up a load for large game but never thought of a little plinker. I can't wait it will be lots if fun.

Just a update on my barrel. This was the reply I got from Rice barrel co.

Hello Richard,

I just finished making a batch of 13/16" straight bbls. Your bbl was the last one to be made. While shaping the bbl octagon a insert broke which resulted in the bbl being pulled out of the vices and into the cutter. Thus "killing your bbl". i didn't have replacement for your bbl. However I just started on a new batch of steel. I will do my best to finish your bbl in the next 2-3 weeks.

Well, I'd sure be happy to deal with a company that gives you updates. The delay is a drag, but it's nice to know you are dealing with an honest company.
So a 13/16ths barrel usually calls for a small lock. What will you be using? My last trad ML had a really nice Siler lock and Davis triggers.

I was looking at the small Siler. But I like the delux Siler. I bought the plans for a Lancaster rifle from track and they show the large Siler and it looks good. So I'm torn. Lol oh what to do lol
