Good for him!
Sounds like a studious young man. All the best to him
Excellent, My son is itchin to do his but since he is just 10 he has to wait a bit. In the meantime we are practicing his shooting skills.
good luck to the young lad
I"m sure he will do great! He is over the hardest part and the hunting part is a breeeze!
He passes, with 4 wrong for about 70 questions. Now we're waiting for his official results paperwork to start the application for his Minor's Possession Permit. He is excited! He wants to go hunting for EVERYTHING this fall. I have to try to calm him down a bit and explain a few realities about life. School, money, transportation, applying for tags, etc.
i also have to guide him through his selection of a rifle for big game, as he will be inheriting his grandfather's 3" 870 Express, .410 single and Cooeye .22 repeater. Do I HAVE to go gun shopping with him? Really? Oh, ok... Can we start this second?
Long wait for that paper to come back.
Than an even longer wait for your pal. Could take 4+months.
Enjoy this precious time with your son! What fantastic new adventures you will have together!
If he will be using , high powered rifles , targeting hunting etc. You can do up some reduced loads, for youth. Hornady has a site that gives examples. I reduced some 30-06 , so they were about like a 30-30, so he could feel comfortable , getting used to it , it was his grandfathers gun, handed down a nice husquavarna. After a bit of shooting and targeting , he graduated to hunting loads. old243
