Wind and rain tips

Beyond encouragement to get out there anyway, any tips on rainy and/or windy day thunder chicken hunts? What's worked for you? Thoughts on if they behave any differently (timing, range, etc)? Would love to know (given the conditions).

X2 Also, the birds are a little slower getting going when it's raining. Also a blind makes the experience more enjoyable and lets you stay out longer. Dress warm as you cool off much quicker when it rains.

Wind, rain and cool.......I like to set-up on the couch and watch the hockey playoffs.

I have had good luck in rain and even better the first half hour it stops. Pop up blind is the only way to go.

Blind a must.

birds are always out in the open... But rarely make any sounds. They move slowly it's important to know where they are going to go in particularly roost in this weather and be on their trail before 7pm.... Lol

I was out in the wind and rain on the weekend and again on Tuesday. As opposed to previous years when we would spot bunches in the fields during any sort of rainfall or storm, this year they stayed in the woods.

But, that shouldn't discourage you from heading out to hunt in the rain and wind as their vision and hearing is severely impaired. This makes it difficult for them to feed and travel in the woods.

It gives the hunter an advantage in that you can try a spot n stalk form of run 'n gun. You can move around in denser terrain without worrying as much about snapping a twig, splashing in a puddle or being busted for movement.

I shot mine last Saturday after it rained all night. It was a light drizzle when he came in. Don't let the rain discourage you. Birds were more vocal after the rain let up
